Valentine’s Day is still more than a week away but brands are already busy setting the stage for romance with funny, heartwarming, and memorable ad campaigns. As the season of love kicks off, advertisers have once again taken it upon themselves to capture the essence of relationships, reminding us that love comes in many forms.
From cute penguin love stories to old couples recounting their first meetings, here are the 5 best Valentine’s Day 2025 commercials that kick off the season of love in style.
1. Cadbury Silk: Say It With Silk
If you have ever fallen in love and couldn’t find the right words to express your feelings, this ad will surely resonate with you.
The ad showcases a penguin falling head over heels for what seems like a female penguin (honestly you couldn’t tell their genders unless you happen to have a PhD in penguinology). However, the crux of the story is that our cute little penguin has trouble expressing its emotion to its beloved and ends up acting weirdly every time the female penguin is around.
Thankfully, you don’t need words to express your emotions with Cadbury Silk and that’s what the male penguin uses along with Cadbury’s popular jingle “Kiss Me” to win over the female penguin’s love. The two ‘lovebirds’ sailing away on a heart-shaped piece of ice at the end will surely make you go “awww”!
Damn, could Cadbury ever go wrong with its Valentine’s Day ads? I don’t think so!
2. Whittaker's: At 50 Years You Get Gold
In an age where many relationships last less than a week, being together for 50 years is an accomplishment in itself.
Kiwi chocolate manufacturing company Whittaker's perfectly understood the significance of such relationships and brought in three couples, who had been married for over 50 years, to share their two cents on how to prolong one’s relationship with their partners. The ad showcases these couples recounting their first meetings and underscoring the importance of consideration, communication, and mutual respect in laying the foundation for a successful relationship.
Well, I have been single for the longest time but if I had a partner, I would listen to people who have been doing it right for five decades!
3. Publix: Share The Love
American supermarket chain Publix has made it a habit of treating us to some of the most wholesome ad campaigns year after year and it’s no different this Valentine's.
The ad showcases a young guy getting ready and preparing cupcakes for what seems like a Valentine’s date. We then see him ringing the doorbell at a house, and a couple walking out with the woman complimenting him for being the “best brother”. That’s when we realize that his “date” is with his niece who he’s about to babysit in the absence of his sister and brother-in-law.
Well, love comes in various forms, right? It doesn’t always have to be romantic, but it must always appeal to your heart, which it does for the young lad and his little niece in this heartfelt commercial.
4. Macy’s: The Gift Guide
Speaking of different forms of love, the Macy’s gift guide Alison Brie is back with her mentee Matt Bush to help you choose the perfect gift based on the kind of love fever you’re struck with.
From first love and puppy love to topsy-turvy and everlasting love, Macy’s got something for all love forms. And in case, it’s just a crush where you are yet to exchange words with the other person, you can consider its butterfly stomach love gift; although I am not sure what you are going to do with it since you are yet to speak to them!
In short, you just have to figure out what love form best defines your relationship and Macy’s will have the perfect Valentine’s gift ready for you!
5. Cadbury Philippines: Perfectly Imperfect
Whoever said that love is only possible between like-minded people with similar tastes? This Cadbury ad proves every such notion wrong in the cutest way possible.
The commercial shows a couple, who keep switching the music between hip-hop and K-pop in their car. However, just when you think they are about to fight over the music, the guy does something that melts the girl’s heart straightaway.
Honestly, I would still want to know whose song played at the end. Don't you?
Wrapping Up
And that’s a wrap of some of the best Valentine’s Day 2025 commercials. It’s not easy to make a good Valentine’s Day ad campaign. It has got to be cute, romantic, and perhaps some element of humor in it. But if you can somehow get right, you're going to have one hell of a Valentine’s campaign at your hands.
