In one of our previous blogs, we covered some of the most feel-good Christmas 2024 commercials. But when has life ever been so black and white, defined by only one kind of emotion? It is, after all, a spectrum of emotions and Christmas is no different.
So, brace yourself for the 5 most emotional Christmas 2024 commercials that will tug at your heartstrings, wrap you in a warm embrace, and probably stay with you long after the holiday season ends! Let’s dive in.
1. Chevrolet: The Sanctuary
Chevrolet was back in 2024 with its mandatory heart-wrenching Christmas commercial, which has been the norm in the last few years for the automotive brand.
The ad revolves around a man and his young son, whom he rescues from the unsolicited barrage of career advice being thrown his way by his relatives and family friends at a Christmas party. The two bond over a vintage Chevy truck belonging to the man’s deceased father, with whom he seems to have had a bittersweet relationship.
That’s when the son confides to his father that he’d like to be exactly like his grandfather, who had a knack for working with automobiles, instead of attending those fancy degree courses at opulent universities as suggested by his relatives.
The man, overwhelmed with guilt for not taking the same route as his late father, gives him his approval by handing over to his son his father’s cap. How special a moment is that!
2. Sam Teale Productions: The Last Gift
With or without your loved ones, life goes on and it’s upto you to make it worthwhile as seen in this poignant ad by the UK-based video production company, Sam Teale Productions.
The film revolves around a widowed mother who navigates her first Christmas without her husband. While she seems to be doing her best to be a good mother to her children, watching an old Christmas footage of her husband overwhelms her. However, her husband’s reassuring voice helps her get back to her feet and she watches the footage with her children. And boy, it gives an all new meaning to the word ‘emotional’.
Watch the ad and keep those tissues handy!
3. Apple: Heartstrings
For so many of us, sound and how we hear help shape the way we connect to the world around us. Apple’s 2024 Christmas ad campaign revolves around this theme.
The ad shows a man getting nostalgic about the first words uttered by his daughter ever since she was born. It’s only later when we see him with a hearing device that we find out that he has a hearing disability. Thankfully, a smile on his face seems to suggest that he can perfectly hear and appreciate his daughter’s song. And that’s when the advert becomes truly profound.
To imagine all those years when he couldn’t hear his daughter; ahh, life can be so unfair at times!
4. YearsUK Dog Food: To All Those Dogs Past And Present- Thank You
The death of a pet dog can be heartbreaking and its loss can only be compensated with another one.
The ad shows a young girl feeling miserable after her dog dies. Seeing other kids play with their dogs brings back to her memories of her own dog leaving her craving her dog’s warm embrace. Realizing her pain, her parents get her a rescued puppy, with a tear-jerker of a letter from her previous dog, asking her to take care of her new friend.
The ad ends with pictures of many more rescued pups who need to be homed. Honestly, this one just broke me.
5. Phil Beastall Films: The Advent
And here’s the best and the most emotional of the adverts covered in this blog.
The film follows Grace, who finds herself alone and depressed after a difficult breakup, in the lead-up to Christmas. However, a secret admirer wants her to know that she is perfect just the way she is. So, what happens when her ex-boyfriend comes to her house on Christmas and asks her to get back with him?
Watch the ad to know if she goes back to him or if she has finally realized her worth. Honestly, I can’t quit thinking about the beautiful storyline in this ad.
Wrapping Up
And that wraps up some of the most emotional Christmas 2024 ads. Honestly, the overall theme of Christmas is a jolly one and it’s not easy to make it too emotional. However, a good storyline might just make it emotional enough to trigger the waterworks!
