5 Hilarious Christmas 2024 Commercials That Decked the Halls With Laughter

Hey folks, we are back with yet another #FunnyFridays segment. This year brands have outdone themselves with Christmas ads that don’t merely tug at our heartstrings but also deck our living rooms with belly-aching laughter. With awkward Santas to peculiar Christmas presents, these hilarious Christmas 2024 commercials prove that humor and Christmas go hand in hand.

So, get ready to LOL as we unwrap 5 funny Christmas 2024 adverts that will have you laughing all the way.

1. KFC: Kentucky Fried Turkey?

They saw us. They heard us. And they ignored us again. Why KFC, why?

This 30-second KFC Christmas spot takes a rather lively dig at its consumers who have been pushing the brand for years to replace chicken with turkey or at least introduce it alongside their staple ingredient. But it seems like KFC is in no mood to pay heed to them any time soon.

Folks, I’ve got an idea- let’s all grab ourselves some juicy KFC chicken nuggets and sit outside their stores in protest to make them heed our requests!

2. IKEA: Hej Hej Hej!

Swedish furniture brand IKEA released an ad that throws light on the love story of a dachshund, albeit with a funny take.

The spot revolves around a dachshund and his favorite spot in the house- a worn-out armchair near the window. When Christmas comes and the owners remove the armchair, the poor dog gets inexplicably sad. However, the owners soon place a new IKEA armchair there and give the dog its favorite spot again.

What’s funny about it? It turns out that the dog had taken a liking to the bitch from the house on the other side and was feeling ‘lovesick’ after not being able to see its love interest once the old armchair was removed.

3. Airbnb: Santastrophe

Despite all the help from Mrs. Claus, Santa Claus can feel overwhelmed and frustrated at times, as this Airbnb advert tells us.

This animated advert, narrated in the style of the classic poem 'A Visit from St. Nicholas,' humorously illustrates the difficulties Santa faces while delivering presents this year. From navigating a chaotic hotel lobby to dealing with crowded elevators and indistinguishable floors, Santa's experience is far from seamless.

The poor old man is doing everything to make our Christmas worthwhile and yet many of you don’t even believe in him. Ungrateful pricks!

4. airBaltic: Pilot of the Year

Santa’s troubles don’t seem to end this year with his pilot license requiring a renewal.

But as committed as Santa is to his mission of spreading joy, he undertakes a flying course at airBaltic and not only aces his training classes but also ends up becoming the pilot of the year! Now, that’s some dedication!

5. ALDI Australia | Go a Little Extra

Christmas plans often escalate very quickly and supermarket chain ADI captures this through a humorous 60-second advert featuring an overexcited couple.

The ad revolves around a couple who are tasked to bring the turkey and the gravy boat. The pair, however, go overboard in their pursuit to create the best Christmas spread. Not only the life-size ‘gravy boat’ breaks and capsizes midway but also nobody even touches the turkey that’s been brought to the party after such an arduous journey.

But when do Christmas proceedings ever go as per our plans? Watch the hilarious ad to get some laughs out of it.

6. Barbour: Shaun The Sheep x Baa-Bour

And here’s a bonus ad for you featuring a dog and a few sheep that go about singing Christmas carols in the chilly weather outdoors.

This Barbour ad shows Shaun the Sheep, Bitzer, and the rest of the flock coming back for festive fun this year. Caroling at a very cold Mossy Bottom Farm, Bitzer is trying his best to conduct the choir, as their ‘baas’ begins to freeze.

Watch the ad to find out if Bitzer can change the tune with the help of some Baa-bour magic.

Wrapping Up

And that’s a wrap-up of some of the most hilarious Christmas 2024 commercials. The overall theme of Christmas is such that it’s easily compatible with humor. However, if you’re a marketer, you must try to create a good Christmas ad instead of a funny Christmas ad. If it comes out to be funny, it’s a bonus! Try taking some inspiration from some of the most heartwarming Christmas 2024 commercials covered in this blog

We’ll be back with more wonderful adverts for you. Till then, stay tuned!
