They say if you can’t make them cry, make them laugh. In case, you couldn't derive much inspiration from the emotional CNY 2025 commercials, maybe it’s time for you to give humor a chance. So, here we are with another #FunnyFridays segment, wherein we’ll be throwing the spotlight on some of the most hilarious CNY 2025 commercials.
Let’s take a look at those.
1. Haier Malaysia
Haier Malaysia has kickstarted its CNY 2025 ad campaign with an advert that’s both funny and gross.
The ad shows a young boy being somewhat mad at his family for washing his baby pillow, which results in the pillow losing its distinct fragrance. And so the entire family tries to return the old fragrance to the pillow, engaging in antics of all sorts- from rubbing it on their bodies to sitting on it.
While the ad carries a deeper message of creating memories and adding new ‘fragrances’ to life, I can still not get over their over-the-board efforts. If you were pampered as a kid, like the boy in this advert, there’s a good chance that you will find it funny.
2. Aiken: Double the Brightness for a Brighter Year!
If you are a fan of Malaysian creator Elaine Wong and her 'How to Trigger' series, you will surely love this CNY advert, wherein she collaborated with Aiken to trigger Choy San!
The ad shows Choy San-turned-Elaine Wong sending requests from girls to make them pretty down Leng Lui San’s way, as granting those requests is out of her KRA. Everything that happens next is bizarre and makes no sense. But it’s surely funny.

3. Tenaga Nasional: The Family Anchor
The first few seconds of this advert might lead some of you to consider this commercial more suitable for a spot in our blog on the emotional CNY adverts. However, the over-energetic vibes that the protagonist emits throughout the ad will change your opinion.
The ad showcases an old man asking his daughter to promise him to always keep the tradition of CNY reunions in their family alive. And the woman happily obliges to an extent that she executes almost all of CNY chores through a swift movement of her hands always being so quick on her feet that she may give Usain Bolt a run for his money.

4. Etiqa: One-Up
Comparison is the killer of joy. But for many people, one-upmanship is what drives them, even if it means a bit of indirect self-harm as seen in this ad.
This funny spot by Etiqa shows two parents always comparing themselves to each other and trying to be better than the other. Such is their competitive spirit that they start competing over their children's achievements too. But a surprising twist amid a heated argument puts an end to their endless comparisons, or maybe not!

5. Samsung: I Love CNY But…
One always has to be at the top of their game when it comes to keeping up with the Gen Alpha’s lingo.
Negative aura, delulu, skibbidi rizzler- the list of words in their vocabulary that make no sense (to non-Gen Alphas) is insane. So, does YouTuber Dennis Limming stand a chance at impressing his Gen Alpha audience in this funny spot?
