While I was expecting to see a few more impactful IWD commercials after covering some of those in our last blog, I was left a bit disappointed with the small number of campaigns we saw this year. However, I have always been a firm believer in quality over quantity, which is reflected in the ad campaigns that we include in our blogs day in and day out. So, I am back with probably the last IWD blog for this year, and let me tell you- each of the ads covered in this one is one hell of a banger!

Here are 5 awesome International Women’s Day 2025 commercials that will drive you to think about women’s issues more seriously than ever.

1. BluSmart and Pee Safe: Driven by Her

Ride-hailing services in India usually hire male drivers. However, BluSmart, an electric cab service has facilitated the induction of female drivers into its workforce. However, finding hygienic restrooms is often a major problem for these female drivers.

To that end, BluSmart has joined hands with Pee Safe, a hygiene product company, to provide its female drivers with on-the-go hygiene kits to ensure their hygiene, dignity, and the freedom to move without hesitation.

After all, a world #DrivenByHer should never have roadblocks!

2. Decathlon: Play Your Own Way

Women athletes! I have wondered why that term must include the gender caveat and it looks like Decathlon’s marketing team has been having the same thoughts.

Decathlon’s 2025 ad campaign celebrates journeys that remind us that true empowerment comes from within. The 20-second spot beautifully captures the raw emotion and unwavering strength of women who choose to play by their own rules.

3. Vivo: Kanyagyaan

Despite the rapid inclusion of women in almost every sector, the representation of Indian women in STEM fields remains low.

Smartphone manufacturing company Vivo has launched a lovely 75-second spot, against an equally awesome background score, highlighting its STEM Kanyagyaan initiative, which supports young women in India with scholarships and celebrates their stories of determination and hard work.

The brilliant advert pays tribute to their challenging yet rewarding journey to build a future in STEM and create new opportunities for themselves.

4. Apollo Green: Growing Up, Growing Equal

As much as we’d like the world to offer equal opportunities to everyone, there’s a point in everyone’s lives where we realize that the world isn’t equal and doesn’t necessarily offer each one of us the same level playing field. This heartwarming advert by energy company Apollo Green highlights such moments in the lives of people from its top management.

The ad throws the spotlight on Apollo’s senior management who either watch and get inspired by women in their lives at an early age or evolve with time to challenge their own set of beliefs and stereotypes. Thus, the advert beautifully reflects upon their journey of unlearning stories that told them who could lead, who could dream, and who truly belonged.

After all, things that we once believed in might shape us but they don’t define us!

5. Hettich: It’s All in Her

Furniture brand Hettich launched a powerful 45-second ad this Women’s Day, which showcased its commitment to safeguarding women’s rights at its organization.

From championing voices that must be heard to echoing gender diversity through equal leadership opportunities, the ad highlights how Hettich has been investing in women’s growth and been an important facilitator when it comes to helping women break glass ceilings.
