As promised, we’re back with another blog on the best Ramadan adverts from this year. Ramadan is not only a time for families to come together but also an excellent opportunity for brands to connect with their audiences meaningfully. Thus, it’s no wonder that we see brands spending a significant share of their marketing budgets on curating special ad campaigns to connect with their audiences.
So, let’s take a look at these five Ramadan 2023 ads. From heartwarming family moments to powerful messages of unity and compassion, these commercials capture the essence of Ramadan and the spirit of the season.
1. Air Selangor: Gambar Pagi Raya
Getting a good Ramadan family photo, especially if the family is large, has become somewhat of a luxury. It is either delayed or spoiled by a photo bomber or photo bummer. And Air Selangor based its Ramadan 2023 ad around this.
The ad showcases a girl getting mad because of her family members' inability to properly pose for a family photo. But just when she’s sulking in a corner, her mother comes to her and gives her the best piece of advice. What’s the advice? Watch the ad to know!
2. Tata Motors: Leave No One Behind
What’s a Ramadan celebration without a family? Celebrations become more special when there are more people to celebrate with! More people to meet, more smiles to greet, and more stories to repeat. So, Tata Motors, while closely following this idea, came up with a heartwarming tale this Ramadan to celebrate its true spirit.
The ad features an old man without a family. It’s Ramadan and he has nobody to celebrate it with. So, some of his customers from his restaurant decide to do something for him so that he doesn’t feel left out and lonely on the most important day of the year. What do they do and do they succeed in making him feel included? Well, the ad is right ☝️
3. Occasions DryFruits: Khushi Baatne Se Badhti Hai
While Ramadan has a special connection with mouth-watering food and delicacies, not everyone is fortunate enough to enjoy these luxuries of life. And dry fruits company Occasions highlighted this issue very well in its Ramadan 2023 ad.
The ad shows a man spotting a destitute kid while he was about to have his evening snack or Iftaar meal after the day-long fast. Upon talking to the kid, the man realizes that the kid doesn’t have the means to enjoy the evening snack. From that day on, the kind-hearted gentleman starts having Iftaar with the kid every day.
They say one must spread happiness to truly enjoy it. And this ad serves as a great reminder of this age-old adage.
4. McDonald's Singapore: Bulan Kasih Sayang
As said previously, Ramadan is all about togetherness and celebration with family. But not everyone can afford the luxury of being with their families on Ramadan. So, McDonald's Singapore came up with a Ramadan ad this year that was dedicated to all Muslims who continue to serve Singapore while their families break fast together.
The ad features a Muslim woman who works at McDonald's. And as much as she wants to break the Ramadan fast with her family, her job doesn’t allow her to do so and she isn’t able to get back home in time for Iftaar. But sometimes a caring family is all you need to be able to immerse yourself in Ramadan festivities!
5. Watsons Malaysia: Rahsia Gaya Raya
There’s nothing more dangerous than sibling rivalry. But health and beauty care company Watsons came up with the cutest sibling rivalry ad for its Ramadan 2023 ad.
The ad showcases the competitive spirit between two sisters, Fyna and Ayda, as they try to one-up each other over the years. But it’s always Fyna who’s had the upper hand. From finding out who ate the Raya butter cookies to retrieving their uncle’s lost slippers, Fyna always outshines Ayda. So, when their mother says that she’d be passing on the heirloom jewelry to her beloved child, both the sisters start harboring aspirations to own it.
But what happens when the jewelry gets 'stolen'? Watch the ad and find out!

And that was a wrap of yet another segment of the best Ramadan 2023 ads. These five Ramadan ads truly captured the spirit of togetherness, unity, and compassion that are at the heart of the season.
