5 Thought-Provoking IWD 2024 Ads That Championed Women's Voices and Progress

I promise this is going to be our last segment on International Women’s Day 2024 ads. But when you have so many awesome ads out there, you have got to cover them all regardless of how many blogs it might take.

So, here we are once again, and hopefully for the last time, with the best IWD 2024 commercials that broke barriers and fostered inclusion.

1. Mercedes Benz: Be One of Many

In our previous blog on the best IWD 2024 ads, we covered McLaren’s campaign that revolved around women from its top leadership who shared what Women’s Day meant to them. This 100-second Mercedes Benz spot did something similar, except that it included women from other industries too.

The ad throws the spotlight on three remarkable women working in male-dominated industries around the world and shows them sharing their stories of how they're driving the change to #BeOneofMany. These women include author and entrepreneur Aya Jaff, head chef Dalad Kambhu, and Mercedes Benz’s Director of Global Sales Operations Alexandra Strassburger.

Watch the ad to see how these wonderful women dealt with challenges that life threw at them to end up where they are today!

2. Bleacher Report: Ready or Not, Here…They’ve Always Been

Yup, you read that right! Sports website Bleacher Report released a powerful IWD 2024 advert that featured several female sportspersons, including Serena Williams and Erin Jackson.

We keep hearing people saying that women are slowly arriving on the scene and carving out a space for themselves in different industries, including sports. Well, guess what, they have already arrived and they aren’t waiting for anyone to acknowledge their presence; instead they are already making a mark wherever they are.

When the world doesn’t give you what’s rightfully yours, you have to seize it and stop expecting others to acknowledge your claim. Just go for it, girl!

3. Deloitte: Better Futures

It’s 2024, but millions of women and girls are still unable to realize their full potential. Deloitte released a 100-second IWD spot highlighting the efforts it has been making to change this situation.

The ad showcases Deloitte’s world-class social impact programs that are committed to building #BetterFutures. The ad also shows how Deloitte has been helping women with access to quality education and training, economic empowerment, and business skills.

The ad isn’t as impactful as the previous one but surely serves as an inspiration for other businesses to chip in with their women empowerment endeavors.

4. Everlite: Hear Me Out

The struggles and successes of a regular woman often go unheard amid the rush of daily life. But this International Women’s Day, Indian jewelry brand Everlite, came up with the #HearMeOut campaign, whose purpose is to lend an ear to each woman!

The ad showcases women assuming different roles and carrying out their responsibilities. But while all these stories can inspire people for generations to come, someone needed to unearth them and break them to the world. Thanks to Everlite, now your stories will not be left unheard!

5. Axis Bank: Finance Without Bias

And here’s my favorite IWD 2024 ad campaign for this blog. This amazing ad by Axis Bank talks about the recent financial trend called #GirlMath” and sheds light on why it’s problematic.

In case you aren’t aware of this trend, #GirlMath is a trending phenomenon that women refer to to justify their spending habits. For example, it says that you’re making money if you’re purchasing something on sale, justifies shopping more to save the delivery charge, and not spending any money today to double the budget tomorrow!

While it’s a humorous way to rationalize ridiculous ways some women justify an unnecessary expense, it also stereotypes women to say that they have no financial sense. With millions of women making their own financial decisions, such trends only tend to belittle the achievements of women and all the progress that they have made over centuries to counter the same stereotypes.

The impactful ad serves as a slap to everyone who still sees women as someone who should be dependent on men, or worse be subservient to them!

Wrapping Up

And that was a wrap of another blog on some of the best International Women’s Day campaigns from this year. Women have made massive strides in almost all areas and their progress shows in the International Women’s Day ads year after year.

We’ll be back with more wonderful videos for you. Till then, stay tuned!
